Melbourne played host to the very first Cat Lovers Show held in Australia and I’m so pleased to say we were asked to be a part of it!!

Cats and cat lovers from all over the country converged on Melbourne on the 8th -9th of September for a weekend full of fun, laughter, excitement and most importantly cats!!

Alkala Bengals Australia were the only bengals on display and as the organisers said........We were the talk of the show!!

Aside from having Floki, Bells, Harper and Floki’s son Savvy with us for people to hold, pat and talk to in real life,  I also had all of my Boutique pet furniture and designs products available for sale. To say we were busy is an absolute understatement!! My two brilliant staff, Tayla Mathrick, Tayla Ogilvie and I were run off our feet  all day both days with more clients then you can imagine!! Our crowd was 6 people deep 99% of the time to the point the organisers had to bring in people to keep the walkway clear! We had such an amazing time meeting as many people as we could and telling them all about the Bengals, the breed in general and the feline products I hand make specially designed for cats.

I was incredibly proud to be a part of Dr Harry Cooper’s on stage performance on both days of the cat lovers show. As most Australians know,  Dr Harry is a very well known and respected television personality and veterinarian. Dr Harry requested one of my bengals be a part of his show so at around 2pm on both days, Bell’s and I popped her lead on and headed up to take part on stage. Whilst there, we spoke with Dr Harry about  the personality traits Bengals , their intelligence, their eagerness to learn and ease of training. For such a young little bengal such as Bell, I was super impressed with her behaviour and the way she handled being up on stage in front of thousands of people especially as she was away from the comfort of her cattery mates. Just another example of the quality and personality of an Alkala Bengals Australia cat!!

For the second year running, Alkala Bengals dominated @ the Melbourne Cat Lovers Show!!
With a much larger stand, more cats, products & giveaways we had an incredible weekend!!
We headed there with Floki, Bolt, Little Dude, Lux & Zoe all in their best behaviour ready to be patted and doted over by thousands of adoring and wonderful cat loving people!! With the amazing assistance of Claire, Charlotte & Tayla we spent an amazing weekend hanging out with the cats, talking to thousands of people and most importantly, making people smile when they could get up close and personal with these stunning animals. It was so lovely to catch up with friends we met last year and of course all the new friends we met this year who are now firmly entrenched in the Alkala Bengals Australia  family.  One of my personal highlights was meeting Bondi Vet Dr Chris Brown and him taking the time to come meet

my bengals and I’m very proud to say that he liked what he saw and was very impressed with the quality and above all nature of these stunning cats.
Alkala Bengals will be back at the Melbourne Cat Lovers Show again next year and you guessed.......we’ll be even higher and better then before!! Looking forward to seeing you all there!!
